facebook app - motorola defy.....ARRGGGHHH

    Need some help here people. Im trying to fix a friends phone so as to get the facebook app working. At moment all that is happening is a round 'loading' symbol and nothing else. Ive tried deleting the app and re-installing but zip. The phone is a motorola defy. Please help, im close to going on the beer and throwing the phone in the bin!

    what kinda connection are you using?if its 3g then try wifi see if that helps
    you could just have a weak 3g signal.my FB app sometimes freezes with the loading icon when its syncs on a 3g connection.
    you could always try "friendcaster" app pretty much the same to the
    FB app.
    or just make a bookmark/shortcut from the browser for FB.

    Not sure how accurate I may be here, but everything there is an Android update for facebook, it is deadly slow, or not working at all for a few days either side of it. Last big update was in July I think and it was un useable for a week.

    I have a Samsung Galaxy and its the exact same. There is plenty memory free etc, and everything else I use web wise is working fine. So bear with it.

    cheers lads for the replys. Its not a network issue for sure. Its appears that facebook are just inept when it comes to releasing a sound version of the app for android based phones. And dont even mention the fact that the motorola smart phones run a tweaked, customised version of android called motoblur. So getting the facebook app to work on this phone is akin to stuffing two pieces of sh1t in a toaster and expecting a yummy sandwich - AINT HAPPENING!


    I know some folks might like the motoblur feature on these phones but as a techie who ocassionally repairs smart phones for customers, this feature is a total pain in the bum.

    @Yip - downloaded and tried that friend caster app and i must say im impressed. Needs a bit of work but pretty cool so far. Great alternative to facebook
