    Hey guys,
Looking for opnions on a cheapish 4x4 for some weekend madness. Nothing too rough, just to get to mountain bike trails etc. Over here diesel engines are quiet rare on the disco as are manuals, So im looking at the V8 at this stage.
How would these compare to the V6 Mitsy pajero / 6 cyl cherokee etc ?

Couple of links to what im currently looking at :

    Disco V8

    Disco 2.5 Diesel

    JEEP

If fuel costs aren't a concern then there's no question, V8 all the way! You'll only do around 15mpg in a V8 auto but 25-28 in the Tdi but the V8 will be so much nicer to drive. Spent 5 weeks in Auckland a couple of years ago and heard the rumble of V8s all the time :D

No experience of the Jeep, people here tend to avoid them like the plague! Land Rover spares and technical support will be better as well, there's a strong club scene for them in NZ.
