I was looking at guns today and the aimtrek from ultimark looks the biz,
    http://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html
But what roms are working good enough to justify dropping 200 quid on a pair?
Point blank doesnt have sound and point blank 2 would'nt work for me,
    Still tempted tho!

Cheers, 100 each is a bit steep alright considering the limited usage it would get.

Aimtrak is the only one worth using, buy the components and put into a cheap ps1/2 gun

I won 100 quid on the super-bowl so im going to order an aimtrak today!
I think I'll skip the hassle of buying the components and just buy the pre build.

So I got the aimtrek last Friday and so far Im very impressed with it.
Works without drivers but theres a small program you need so you can make slight changes to the set up.
I've tried out a good few games and the best ive found so far are all mini game based
Zero point 1,Point blank and Bang! work very well.
I think Bang! is the best of them as the sound doesnt work in point blank.
Zero point 2 works well also but I havent quite figured out how to get the shoot off screen to reload to work but It says it works on the site.
A lot of the games have tricks to get them to work properly via F2.All the tricks are listed on the aimtrck site.

All in all I definitely think I'll get a second one some time but its hard to see 100 quid in the product.I reckon they sell feck all of them hence the price.
The first thing I did was take the gun apart and add some lead to the handle to give it a bit of weight.

Cheers, glad I spent the cash on a Saturn now rather than a (rarely used) gun..

One lightgun game I've always wanted to try is Elemental Gearbolt on the PSOne. Pretty sure it costs a fortune so emulation would be a nice option.

I spent ages researching guns there few weeks ago and Aimtrak was by far best reviewed etc... But After seeing EMS Topgun I really wanted one even with some poor reviews and such, but they have a new gun out now and he slight issue on 1st few batches with trigger button failing, but thats all sorted now.

So I went away and got a TopGun III of lik-sang - 35e, 50e delivered,
Its Wireless, Comes with Dongle, Its got Recoil and nice feel to it, I love this thing. Hardest part was setting up each rom in mame,
but love Point Blanks, Lethal Enforcers, max Force,
Bang and Police Trainer is old but great craic.

The gun is PS2 compatible along with LCD and my arcade monitor.
My machine hasnt any other cool Emus to get higher spec games running outside of mame, but must try get rest of those working soon, like Time Crisis.

Id recommend it, especially for recoil, and wireless.

    Looks the biz Kev,
did you try any of the .chd games?
anybody know a good place to get them?

Nope I wanted to but Carnevil and such all runs way to slow.
I only have 512MB ArcadeVGA, cud do with more powerful Machine with better CPU etc... I just about handles Street Fighter 4 and such.

I think Area 51\Maximum Force might be CHD though,
they were quite fun, And its funny seeing 80's babes in bikinis trying not to get shot :)

One game id love to play is Mad Dog Mcgree, cheesy but fun :)

The chd games are good to have but not that many of them run properly. I've a fairly powerful pc running at 5ghz with loads of ram and top end graphics cards and the slow games still run slow on MAME. It's the emulation implementation.

Thanks Steve, that sure helps me finally decide not to bother rebuilding a new Mame Box just in hope Better CPU might help a bit... :)
Wasnt looking forward to another 3 weeks of sleepless nites re-configuring MiniPACs, LEDWiz, BootsScreens, hiding windows and setup up all software again :)

I am 180GB\262GB into getting full new set to try test Mame 131 to v145 + and Cave Games :) Happy Dayz!!! :)

    Kev
