Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 - leads and contacts

    Hi everybody,

Before I begin, I would like to emphasize that I am VERY new to Dynamics CRM. I have yet to receive any formal training, and any step-by-step guide will only get you so far. With this in mind, please go easy on me. :D

    Anyway, upwards and onwards!

My boss recently bulk imported large volumes of contact and account data onto our CRM systems. However, after much debate, it has been decided that the accounts imported onto our system should be leads, rather than recognised accounts.
As such, the boss has asked me to determine whether or not one can convert contacts or accounts into leads.

Now I know how to go about the process from the opposite direction, at least on an individual account or contact basis. However, I'm not entirely convinced that one can go backwards with this process. Put simply, I'm not convinced that one can convert a contact or account into a lead once said contact or account has been qualified as such.

That said, I'm knew to this so I don't actually KNOW if it can't be done. Can anyone assist me in this matter? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
