    Hi,

I'm looking at buying Microsoft office for mac here in Ireland and it's very expensive. I've seen it online for less than half that but the only thing is it's from the US. My question is, does anyone know if this will work on my computer here in Ireland or does a US disk operate differently?

    Thanks.

Software licensing in europe vs the eu is why the price is different, and technically you need to abide by the software licensing laws.

If it's for home or student use, then get the home and student edition:

If it's work related then you shouldn't have a problem paying for legit software since it can be written off as an expense.

If eligible, you can purchase it cheap from Software4Students.ie. If you're a college student then check your computer department first, they might have students covered under their campus license agreement

If you work for a large company, check if they have a deal with MS for staff use. I got it for €12 through work for a download, with the option of paying another tenner if you wanted it on a disc. HP and Intel have this arrangement at least and I'm sure there must be more.
