Well lads, looks like Sizing Europe has this at his mercy this year.

Hard not to be impressed with him today, I thought Big Zeb would handle the ground better and expected a closer race but SE just blew him out of the water.

Sizing Europe now around 11/10 mark. Not my kinda price but will probable have him in a few doubles etc.
Big Zeb out to 6/1 now, probably over priced at that to be honest. I cant still see him finishing second as i dont fancy Finians Rainbow strongly.

After those 3 there's feck all else in the race with a chance.

I think Captain Chris would have a decent chance of making the frame if he were to run and be in full nick

Gauvain at 25/1 looks a great EW bet for me!

If Hobbs hadn't ****ed around with him as much this season he'd have had half a shout alright.

He would win obv, Arkle winners always win the CC

    That is very true Richie.

The secret to be a successful gambler: Save money all year and back the Arkle winner in the CC. I likey

It's hard to see past Sizing Europe now for the CC, my only fear is that out of the "big 4" (Hurricane/Sizing/B Bucks/Long Run) that surely ONE of them has to be beaten, I don't want any of them to win and will definitely have the 4 of them backed in an accum, here's hoping they all retain their titles anyway!

I'd give Kauto Stone an e/w shout if he goes in this instead of the Ryanair

I wouldn't touch that horse with your hard earned cash :)
Just not good enough and wants soft ground. Surely he will go for the easier race, the Ryanair.

I think Kauto Stone ran well in the Tingle Creek but the ground had a bit of give in that day, he jumped very well at the railway fence but it really does look like the ground needs to be soft for him to run his race. 25/1 a big price for the festival though.

Still Sizing Europe will win though, 10 wins over 2 miles on all kinds of ground, he's pure class. Arkle Winner, Irish Champion Hurdle winner, won the Greatwood hurdle, must have had over €1 million won at this stage, oh to own him! You are a lucky man Mr. Potts!

I also remember reading that the dam of Sizing Europe was a Mandalus mare and her last foal was by Accordian, he turned out to be The Spoonplayer, who won a good few races too.

I think that is very unfair on the horse, he was 8 lengths behind Sizing Europe in his last run and he belted the 2nd last. In the entries for the Champion Chase there are only three horses rated higher than him, Sizing Europe, Big Zeb and Somersby.

Not sure where you are getting your assertions that he needs soft ground, he had one run on Good and fell and he has only run on Good/Soft or Softer. His action suggests to me he will go on any ground.

I will be getting stuck in wherever he goes, probably Ryanair me thinks.

Interesting, what is it specifically about his action that makes you think he will go on any ground?

Alot of my mates seem to be touting Sizing as a good thing.
One of them argued he's a better thing than the Fly.
I just feel the margins in the Champion chase are that bit tighter, and one half mistake at a fence could completely stop any of the horses momentum and cost him the race.
I also think alot of people talking up the big favs accums could be dissapointed.
All good things come to an end and all that... particularly when the opposition is all guns blazing..

To my eye he doesn't seem to lift his feet overly high or slowly like a plodder might, I am not saying he points his toe either he seems to be in the middle.

I wouldn't be overly confident if he was running on quicker than good but for the likely going at festival I won't be too worried to get stuck in, his jumping will serve him well too.
