I have an aluminium frame (Genesis Aether) which I use to commute and I don't want to put on a rear rack 'cos I also use the bike for training and because it's ugly :D
I found out abou these Carradice saddle bags and I like the idea that the can come and go like that...
Anybody has any experience with them?
Commuting is about 25k each way.
Would it be a good solution?

    Any contribution is very appreciated.

    Thank you

Have used several different carradice bags, both attached to the saddle and attached to the seaport with a sqr bracket, http://www.carradice.co.uk/index.php?page_id=product&under=other&product_id=82

Using with the bracket gives you the choice of quickly removing the bag and enclosed tools/valuables.

    Def recommend carradice bags.

I cycle similar dystance to work using an aluminium bike and a Carradice saddle bag. It is great and I would recommend it. The size is OK, but sometimes I wish it was a bit bigger and on a spin I wish it was that bit smaller ;).
The side pockets could be better weather protected and tighter (they feels a bit flimsy), but on the other hand I have never had any problem with that while on the go.
In general the bag does its job well and it is better solution than a back pack. You can also attach your rear light at the back of the bag.
I bought my one second hand, as the model I wanted was out of stock since July.

I got a Carradice Nelson and one of those SQR system they have.
Hopefully the bag will hold a full change of clothes and my lunch.
And no more back sweating... :)
    Looking forward to it

    No, it's this one

I wanted the green one, but Wiggle doesn't stock them apparently.

Edit: 15lt should be enough space for a credit card tour as well in the few months... :-)

    Which one is actually bigger?
Is your bag cmpatible with the same bracket fitting?
And how is it balanced when you ride the bike?

The bag I got is 15lt and yeah... it should be ok. According to them, the SQR System apparently fits all Carradice saddlebags.

just to give you an idea, here's a pic of how it should look even though in this photo the bag is smaller than the one I got

About the balance I don't know, but I will soon I guess...

    :D
