Has anyone else noticed the way all the runners seem to be drifting like barges lately, anyone think there is something odd going on or they are not as in form as usual?

Most his runners are underpriced for a start, I'm sure most of it is down to the market just levelling out as such.

    Hugely underpriced

Re run of Hurrican Fly on ATR now.

Surely not that underpriced, Bosses Cousin opened at 1/2 and went off at 5/4 yesterday.

Curious ride by Ruby on Allure Of Illusion, looked like he didn't want the horse to win.

just got a 100 winners in record time, hardly out of form.

SP is set by money in the ring at the races. with attendances down and little or no interest in average punter at races backing short price favs..bookies on course often push the price out to try and get punters to back. that's why you often see a mullin's horse you expect to be 10/11 ending up 6/4.

ps I thought Ruby gave that 1/5 fav in the openner a shocking casual ride.

I mean not as prolific in the last two weeks or so, that doesn't account for the previous 4 months of the season.

I know that but from 1/2 to 5/4 is a massive ease in the price of what was for me the obvious winner.

I hate heavy ground, the one time I rarely back anything:mad:

In fairness 5/4 yesterday was closer to its true price. I wouldn't want to back a horse first time out over hurdles at 2/1 on,when the second fav has some good hurdles form

Probably was but you get plenty of punters backing Mullins jollies all day long, just thought it was a big drift for one of theirs.

Just looking at his stats this year something like 33% strike rate, that is pretty much the same as favourite stats!

    Nonsense.

    <snip>

Pj, can you provide a link for the info you quoted, please, and I'll re-edit your post then. Thanks, C.

    Which one did you back?

I don't think it's a joke at all watch the race again..it's like he didn't want to push the horse..not sure the reason maybe give it a light race as possible before going to chelt, don't know..in fact if you watch the race again even when he put the whip to him it seemed like he didnt really hit him once or twice..I had as a 1st in a five fold and I was close to disgusted to see it go to a dead heat...Shocking..

I have looked at it 3 times. ( Taped it as I have an interest in K.V. )
The joint winner deserves a lot of credit. He obviously stays and the other one doesn't.
Ruby gave the horse every chance, and DID get down to serious work when it was needed.
The horse didn't lose , even if you did.

Don't the vast majority of bookmakers pay out both results in a dead heat anyway. Not sure what the story is with exchanges. King V not a bad horse, good bumper form and only giving 2lbs yesterday. Thought he was the outright winner to be honest.

Celtic used to. My local only gives half now. Trainer said he ( the horse !! )had ringworm, which explains the 2 runs after great bumper win. Good future if he keeps well.

I don't know about giving it every chance..also I didn't lose, returns halved..I must be missing something if your suggested the horse was given every chance..will have a look at it gain tonight

Nope, hardly vintage Ruby and he was only showing the whip.

He DIDN'T get too serious and only showed the whip.

I never took anything away from King Vuvuzela, I had him backed and I am expecting much more to come from him.

    FYI

Fair enough. Paul Nolan said K.V. had ringworm, which would have accounted for his 2 runs after the impressive bumper win. Hopefully he'll progress.

Best of luck with him, I have had him in my tracker for a while.
