RTE news blackout on Calcutta Cup result ?

Am I correct to deduce that England must have won the Calcutta Cup Rugby match against Scotland yesterday ?

I was listening to RTE Radio 1 on my way to the Dubs v Kerry match ak Croke Park and I was getting regular
updates informing me that Scotland were winning. Then things went quiet. I heard one more update which said
England were winning, then I went to watch the Dubs. When I came out ... nothing.

I have been listening to RTE Radio 1 since 9am this morning and have heard no mention of the result. I looked at the RTE webpage - I can see no
mention of it - although maybe it is buried in the smallprint somewhere.
There was a long segment on the Marian Finucane show on Rugby, but no mention of the Scotland v England match.

Can I again remind RTE that there are proportionately more English people in Ireland than there are Irish people
in England. It is simply inconceivable that the BBC would neglect such a sizeable minority of its licence fee payers
    in this way.

They covered the whole game live.

You're recollection of the events is wrong.

The dubs-kerry game kicked off at 7:15 the scotland-england match was over by then as it started at 5.00. Scotland were winning at half time ~ 5.40pm, after half time England took the lead, which they didn't relinquish.

At around 7 the hourly news came on and gave us the news from across the channel including all the football results and the latest on the 6 nations. They also mentioned the latest in matches in progress, Villa vs City and the Calcutta cup. I remember the guys on the radio saying there was 2 minutes of normal time left with England 7 points to the good before joining Des Cahill and the other commentators in Croker telling us about how they didn't like the rubberbandits and there was to be abseilers delivering the match ball.

There was no media black out.

Pity, because it ended up being a shocking game!

It was definitely on the web - was live on the web, link on the middle of the page iirc when you open up rte.ie/sport

Radio 5 live the night Connacht beat Harlequins reported from Kingsholm where Gloucester beat Toulouse but not from Galway. ITV's HC highlights package included no coverage of this game either. I'm pretty certain if Harlequins had won the situation would have been different at least in terms of the highlights programme.
