    Hi,

I'm interested in getting braces - I'm 27 yrs old and don't want them to be too visible so I'm thinking Lingual Braces are the option for me.

I had my first consultation with my orthodontist and he quoted €7950 for 24 months of treatment for both top and bottom braces. Just wanted to get some feedback whether this price is normal?

I really liked the orthodontist and would trust my treatment with him so it's not just about money - but €8k is a huge amount of money so just looking for other peoples experiences with lingual braces and costs. Any recommendations welcome!

Lingual braces are very expensive to have made and very time consuming to fit and adjust. There is going to be a extra cost for these. You case must be pretty complex all the same for that price.

If you trust the orthodontist that worth a lot also. Its a big investment but IMHO well worth if if you afford it.

    Hi there

7-8000 is about the usual fee for lingual appliances. If you are happy with the orthodontist and confident in them then go ahead. The braces will be invisible but do make you lisp for a few weeks and cause a lot of tongue discomfort at the start

You could have white or ceramic brackets on the outside, this would be about 4000 or half the price. They wont look as good but cost less

...would speech problems still be an issue if the lingual braces were just fixed to the six front teeth, upper and/or lower?

also, are they usually applied, both upper & lower, at the same time? .or is it preferred to allow a certain time to elapse after applying the upper set, for example.....before applying the lower set?

Yeah, braces are ridiculously expensive so that would probably be the normal price!

Hi, I'm just wondering if you could pm me the name of the ortho you went to? I was quoted 1000 more than that price today!
