Best shop for buying boots?

I'm in the market for a new pair of boots, my last pair were Nike Mercurials which I bought off of prodirectsoccer.com but I'm looking to try a few other types. Most sport shops have a pretty poor selection and I'm looking to try a before I buy; I could yet buy online but want to try them first.

Any suggestions for shops with a good selection?

Pro Direct are very good. But my last few pairs of boots have come from eBay actually, I find that if you want a particular set of boots, you can get them cheap from Asia or the USA, and these are the real thing, you dont see fake boots unlike jerseys etc.

    I wanted these Predators:

and they were €135 on Pro Direct. I got them delivered from the USA for €81. They are the real thing, the top version, and considering Lifestyle were selling the mid-range version (Predators come in 3 versions of quality) for €80, I was delighted.

My suggestion: Use Pro Direct's catalogue of boots, they have the best selection, and find the boots you want, then look on ebay. The selection in Irish high-street shops is shocking.

The selection is bricks and mortar shops is terrible and overpriced.

Contact pro-direct or whoever and ask what the fit of the boots are. Leather boots will stretch to fit your feet but non-leather wont.

Tell them what you've worn before and liked and they may be able to suggest what might suit you.

I find that if you are just looking for good boots that are not the current version of them then Sports Direct are class, they are usually 60-70% cheaper than you can buy them anywhere else. I go through a pair of boots every 3-4 months (playing and training 4 times a week and then reffing as well -although I do not kick people as much doing that) and I find that I can get good boots for 20-30 quid if I am happy not to be wearing the most recent version of boots.

I saw a few great deals on pro-direct alright but lack of sizes often hampers the variety available. My main issue is that I'd like to try a few different brands & models before buying. I know the Mercurials and like the feel but would like to try something different.

Try being a size 9.5 and see how many nice boots are left 6 months + after they are released.
