    • Macronite 1st Birthday Feb 18th 2012 is here and so far, nothing outstanding has happened, the planet's poles haven’t reversed, and fire has yet to rain down upon us…… if any of these mildly terrible things do come true…wouldn’t you rather say, as the Void swallows you up for all eternity, "At very least, I saw Oscar Mulero at Macronite in February, so my life wasn't wasted after all!” So here we are one year on, a little more mature, a little bit wiser (maybe) and a little more confident about what we do as a co-op... we're bringing you the finest underground electronic events with schneer factor that breaks all the gauges…
    • So we’ve got Oscar Mulero to play for our first birthday, as we think that Limerick deserves Techno’s finest masters. Mulero is hands down one of the world’s most consistently class DJs. Theres no faffing around with moody press shots, silly bios or hammering the ‘current sound’. No. Mullero paints his part of the ever changing masterpiece that is techno on his own terms, a true master does not follow… he leads. A little on Oscar...

From the purchase of his first record as a kid to his legendary appearance at Sonar in 1996 alongside giants like Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Jeff Mills, growing from a world-class dj to producer, with a slew of top-quality production and remix work under his belt (sometimes under a variety of aliases like Dr. Smoke and Trolley Route) on some of the world’s best Techno labels, including the revered Tresor, Warm Up Recordings, & Pole Recordings, and has branched out into other electronic sounds and styles as he ascended to the top of the pile of global Techno, meanwhile creating the Selección Natural collective together with Exium, Reeko and Christian Wünsch. Oscar has countinued to astound huge audiences around the world with his individual, no-compromise style. He’ll be supported on the night by Techno resident Niki Kiely, who will be flying back from Zurich where she will be playing the night before! Ruan Flood is also on warm up duties. Expect a complete stomper of a night... and that’s before you go up the stairs!

It being what we do, we have of course all rooms blazing, on the Terrace we’ve got some wicked drum’n’bass courtesy of K3bee, known to his friends as Kevin Beegan, either way a serious pusher of bass, dub and breaks tunes, bringing heavy pressure known to rattle festivals and clubs all across Ireland and beyond.
Representing the crew on the night is the return of our own Flynn. Flynn’s been doing damage for years, being behind FRIED, who, before becoming one with Macroniite, brought some of the freshest new sounds in drum’n’bass to Limerick over the past few years, such as Alix Perez, Calibre, Commix and more. Giving him something to follow is the Luke to his Obi-Wan, ****in’ Teddy!
Filling the upstairs with schound sound are residents End/fin/dead with a fresh live set,
& Tokin’ White Boy hammering tunes that will create a tapestry of madness that will keep you going into the early hours until the stage is taken over by the master of quality Limerick bass/future garage imprint, Hsuan Recordings, KUEI, bumping the low end until somebody calls the shades...
