    Hi all,

Getting a boot error with my Dads laptop, model spec below.

    Model: Hp Presario cq61-416sa

    Is it in warranty? No

    Operating System: Windows Vista

CPU 2.10 GHz AMD Athlon II M320; RAM 3GB DDR 2

    Software: Eset nod 32 v4

The laptop is not booting. It powers on, however the screen stay blank and the caps lock LED blinks twice to indicate a bios issue. I have done a hardware rest to no avail. The laptop is getting power and the CPU fan does boot so I'm running the assumption that its not actually the bios but either ram of GPU.

Any advice on my next steps would be great.

    Thanks
    Dave

Try clearing CMOS settings and replacing CMOS battery. Try turning it on with one RAM stick only - chceck all configurations 1st RAM in 1st slot then 2nd ram in 1st slot and so on.
