    hi all

    i am looking for help. i updated my htc to 2.3.5 and ever since it is causing me problems. power issues, loudspeaker always on ,etc. i want to go back to 2.2.2 software revison but read that it can only be done by rooting your phone. can somebody give me a quick explaination of what happens when you root and load a new rom and if someone has a good guide on how to do this

    Rooting is essentially gaining complete control over the phone so you can modify the firmware/software in any way you like. Why go back a version though? You can find custom roms online of the most recent version your phone can handle, which have been modified by developers to give them extra features or stability. You should be able to find tutorials online, xda developers forum is a great resource, they have pretty much everything you need.

    my phone is set to hboot 2.00.0002 and am finding it hard to find a guide. Is there any place or person in cork that would root the phone for me. Would gladly pay at this stage as ive spent ages looking stuff up by afraid of bricking my phone
