    I got a text off progressive genetics this morning asking to reserve a bull calf for Genotyping has anyone any more info on what is involved I thought it was only pedigree herds they are interested in.

    they are interested in all calves that are born out of high genetic merit animals- these cows dont need to be pedigree just from milk recorded herds where traceability is accurate- i think each ai company will test about 5000calves a year afaik. got a call from lic yesterday about a calve that i didnt even register as pedigree cause his ebi is only 179- but his mother was a vg86 first calver from an ex90 3rd calver

    I might have some more then this cow has a ebi of 135 not in top ten cows in herd for ebi
