    Hey All,

My macbook book suggests I replace the battery saying 'replace soon'.

I can not find any macbook service providers in the Dublin area. Can someone suggest where to pick up a new one.

    Thx a mil.

    :):):):):)

Compu B just off Grafton St on the town side, few shops up from molly malone statue.

Also Mactivate in Blanchardstown, but you would probably need a car to get out there as I don't think any buses go near the business park it is in but I could be wrong on that.

You could always try ebay. Got one from there recently for 30 euro and it's perfect. Think it was around 120 euro on the apple website.

I'd no more buy a battery from eBay.

Any reason why? I certainly had no problem with it.

The battery is one component I really wouldn't recommend cheaping out on. A bad RAM stick or bad hard drive will just fail or not work. A bad battery could leak or explode. There's loads of Chinese counterfeits on EBay and I wouldn't trust any of them.

Save 90 euro is one possibility yes
    or
waste 30 euro, possibly break the laptop or injure yourself/others.

Buy the battery from Apple. Ram or HDD you can buy elsewhere (still not ebay though imo).

OK, thanks for the warning, guess I got some bad advice. Was sure someone on this forum had given me that advice before, but can't find the thread now

eBay unless you want to be robbed.

It did not become a $42 billion company by only selling fakes. Some people have confidence in their decisions, others that fall for the media scaremongering need someone elses validation for reassurance.

If its too go to be true then its too good to be true ;-)

Apple, Dell, Asus, HP or whoever it is - I wouldn't buy batteries from eBay, much as it galls me paying the prices for the official kit.

E-Bay don't sell anything ! They provide a system for others to sell. Caution is always the keyword when buying anything from an unauthorised source - even more so when they are so cheap.
