Very angry with RSA at the moment. First I cant set a test date/ time on my own, OK fine. Then, they sent me a test date about 2 weeks ago, great, so I informed my ADI to book a lesson prior to test + his car for the test. Today, RSA sent me an email saying it is now necessary to cancel your appointment, sorry for the inconvenience, a priority appoinment has been arranged for u blah blah blah...... Now I cant even phone them until Monday!!!

I don't know about the why you couldn't book etc. But I also recieved an email to cancel my test also I do think its a bit odd that they know now that they can't do it on the 23rd February.

I also got an email yesterday saying that they had to cancel my test which was scheduled for the 7th March and my friend who was also supposed to have his test the same day received the same e-mail?

Sounds like the public service retirements are already having an affect, I wonder how many testers are they going to loose at the end of the month?

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Rang them today, it's due to their computer system not working apparently...

Waiting on a call back now for more details.

I just want a driving license:(

Nope Buffman was right the first time this is down to public service retirements they must retire by 29th of February that's how they now know for definite that they can't run tests in around these dates.

Yep, sounds like a made up excuse tbh, how would a computer fault affect tests in a month, and even the RSA's IT crowd can't be that bad. They're not going to admit the real reason.

I just hope for everyones sake it doesn't return to the bad old days of waiting months for a test.

That's a strange one alright. Did you book the test on online? I am hoping to book mine online in the next few months so I can have a set date and time scheduled due to my current licence running out in the summer.

If its a computer issue it should be resolved in the next few days. Weird that they send an email to cancel, sounds to me it was an automatic thing in error. A message sent in error maybe.

I'd ring them to be sure that is the case to confirm that is cancelled. Computers/email isn't always reliable!

I emailed them last week a query on the driving test and so on and it took them a few days to respond. First of all was an automatic reply then I got a proper answer from customer support a few days later. Maybe ring customer support to see what the story is!? If there is an issue with the email system? Could be the whole leap year thing too...time/date going cuckoo!

Well I hope it doesn't go back to the bad ould days. I've seen the list of how long you have to wait for a test on the RSA website and I am quiet happy with the number that is there for my centre. I hope it won't go up! :(

Great. Good that they called to confirm that it was an email system/computer error.

Good news, I'm getting too cynical altogether!:D

It'll still be worth keeping an eye on waiting lists after the retirements though.
