That was a good price for a new 6ft one. Most are around the €700 mark. Where did you get it?

Im interested in this Lindin box too. Do they make a 5ft power box for the likes of a 165/185?

i've the idea that malone is the strongest but i dont know why:o

We have a fleming bought in 1995. Its a heavy duty and is at least 30% heavier than a modern day heavy duty fleming. Cost £540 at the time. Its on one tractor 350 days a year, has got a lot of abuse too. Ram and pipes are original with no faults. Paint is the only thing worn on it.

also have a fleming 6ft, body is strong, not sure its a great ram, had to have seal done there a few years ago and still the box tilts back by itself over night. friend has a malone, would think its a bit heavier maybe

Would they be better than the Nugent powerbox?

We're looking at buying a new powerbox, 5-6FT range.

    Nugent 5FT-€735
    Malone 6FT-€785

Malone seems the best value, but heard good views on the nugent boxes.. Opinions? :P

I rate the malone as better than a nugent box and I'd spend the extra 50 for a six foot no matter what type of power box you buy make sure it is wider than your back wheels

Which would the best box to get fleming, Malone or nugent

I see no one mentioned Major. Had the loan of the neighbour's one.
I thought it was built like a brick sh*t house

I have a Malone box for 5-6 yrs, built to last, no problems with rams or pipes, uncle has a Fleming, they are a lot lighter and pipes corrode after few yrs, so I can only reccomend the Malone one, major make great stuff too.

What are they used for? Is it instead of a loader bucket?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Muckit

I wouldn't have work for one over an ordinary link box/transport box.

I borrowed the neighbour's one for a day last summer to draw chips from where lorry dumped inside field gate and fill into shores. Great job for that in fairness.

I suppose lads use them for cleaning out bedded sheds is it? I don't know.

I will be using it mainly to clean muck out of a shed and spread it on land.
Also I will b using it to help spread gravel in my driveway and bring clay into my garden to raise it.

Just about everything picking stones they will take 2-3 time a transport box as well as being better to lift a rock out of the ground, cleaning sheds, yards, slabs. There are loads of jobs you would not do with a loader bucket that you could chance with a power box. They have there uses especially if your tractor is less than 80HP.

Cheers, I see loads of them when I go west and north of here. I don't know of one around here they sound really handy and not too pricy for what they can do. Sounds to me like a well kept secret or perhaps I need to get out more. Would be really useful in the garden where loader would be too heavy. You may have planted a seed!!:cool::cool:
