    I need help finding a book. A guy told me about it, it's a biography (or autobiography) of a gay guy, I'm pretty sure it's set in the 20s? And he didn't want it released at the time so it was published in the 70s or so? And I think the book title was just the author's first name.. I think. Sorry about the sketchy details, I know it's a longshot! I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Literature forum or not, but I thought I'd try here.

    Are you sure it's not a novel? Because it sounds like "Maurice" by E. M. Forster. Set in the early 20th century, and published posthumously in 1971.
