Photoshop elements any good

    I can't afford the expensive photoshop but I hear elements is pretty good.What do people think?

    it isnt anything special and it still is laggy as with full photoshop but it is fine for the user who doesnt require advanced techniques,its just photoshop aimed at the home user.

    woud personaly recommend GIMP,and it can be setup with photoshop plugins if wanted,there are plenty of native plugins available for it,and it doesnt have the lag that photoshop/elements has.

    there are a number of other free graphics programs available,install a virtual machine with linux and will open up a lot more options for graphics.

    Gimp is an excellent (and free) alternative to Photoshop. Homepage here... http://www.gimp.org/

    http://inkscape.org/ Free illustrator alternative. I've not used it but I hear it's very good.

    http://www.kompozer.net Dreamweaver alternative.

    EDIT: ohh and just incase you want to try your hand at some 3D graphics... www.blender.org is your only (free) man.
