Anybody doing good deals in shoes at the moment?
Greystones had a sale recently but only seem to do Footjoys, and I have serious reservations about their more recent offerings.

Just out of curiosity what did you find wrong with FJ?

I have a pair of Adidas, and the inner lining wore a hole in it in about 2 months . A bit mad , i was thinking adidas would be good, about 100 euro they were.

I also have the new Adidas ATV:

Lovely looking and very comfortable shoe but with the weather lately they are easily ruined and around the laces they are not waterproof.
Ive been wearing my old Nike shoes and they have lasted two years and are a super shoe and waterproof and have never let in water. Two years later and playing in conditions like today and the last few weeks the leather still looks good and the feet are still dry and comfortable.

the FJ's on offer at the mo have a very loose insole, and under is basically a piece of cardboard, badly stuck down.
I have never had a piece of cardboard last more that 3months before it rots and disintegrates.
Nike Heritage have a beautiful sewn insole which has lasted great, however the uppers have now broken apart.
Adidas are 1-2 sizes smaller than whats written on them, nobody stocks a 13! ( maybe just as well)
This is also one reason i wouldnt buy shoes online

While we are on the topic; how long does a pair of shoes last ?

I have a pair of FootJoy Classics Dry Premiere for 4 years. However they are only worn on the nicest of days and courses.

Funny you should say that my Tour360 Ltd are a size 13. Picked them up in Halpennys in Swords. Wear the Adidas during the winter and practicing and keep my Stuburt DCC Shoes for summer.

Can't beat the old FJ Classics, sooner they start making them again the better. Personally I don't think the Icons are close to the same standard.

I had one of the first Tiger Woods Nike , they were 150 euro (mad money), but what a shoe. They lasted 4 to 5 years, the inner leather gave way eventually . The heal area is a week spot in any shoe for me.

I wear black, what is the idea of white ? Is it not a bit impractical ?

Nice machines there alright - do they actually have leather soles? If so they probably don't get a whole lot of outings, at least they wouldn't if they were mine as I would say they have a hefty price tag.

For me it's Ecco all the way. A little heavy, but great in summer and bone dry in the winter.
