hey ya i have the small usb keyboard for the imac and the numbers one to nine are not working as well as the backspace key
i guess number lock might be on but i cant manage to turn it off (if it is actually on)
there is no numlock key on the keyboard or a clear key, fn and f6 is not doing anything
mouse keys, sticky keys and slow keys are turned off

    any ideas?

Is Mouse Keys turned on? Check in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse tab.

If the key presses aren't being detected in the keyboard viewer than it sounds like a problem with the keyboard. Have you had any spillages? If even a little bit of liquid gets in there the keys will stop working.

hmm it was cleaned recently, not sure with what material, will have to ask
i guess that's the only explanation then

That's what did it. I bought leading brand wipes from a major chain and they destroyed the keyboard. Apple replaced it under Apple Care. Contacted the manufacturer and they looked for information and never got back.

Then two weeks ago I spilled a cup of tea on the bloody thing.:o:rolleyes:
Had to replace it myself. But I bought one of these on eBay. Job done.

FWIW when liquid gets in the keyboard tends to jam, repeatedly typing the letter w.
