Hi folks, I am technologically backward and require a few pointers.

What i want to do is record college lectures and my own personal recordings for subjects that i can listen to on an ipod. The ipod that i have is about 5 years old so cant record on it.

Have a PC at home with headphones and speakers, can i use them to record stuff or can i buy something to plug in to the ipod or what can i do.

    Thanks for any advice given

GF has a Sony ICD something dictaphone, she can record lectures and just transfer to PC with a USB cable. I think she converts them to mp3s on the pc.
You can then just move them to ipod with itunes.

You could use a headphone with a microphone and Audacity (free) to create MP3 files and then import them into iTunes.
