I was just wondering has anyone here who qualified with a MEIR recently not done their MCC at either Pathfinder or Simtech, and gone elsewhere to do it?

It seems that there's much better value to be had in the UK, so I was wondering have any Irish traveled across to do it there?

Also, any feedback for either Simtech or Pathfinders would be welcome aswell

Not there yet but did a bit of research into costs.

http://www.crmeurope.com/ do it for £1,749, cheapest I found at the time.

European Skybus down in Bournemouth, based on my experience with them in 2009 they were fantastic. I have recommended them a few times to friends and they were all very happy. Paid for a full MCC and at the end of everyday were given full access to the sim, albeit without the motion, to practice on, with no time limit within reason.
Highly recommended if they are even half as good now as they were then.
JOC anywhere is an utter waste of money and time, in my opinion! If you feel the need for that little extra "experience" then a few hours with a place like Atlantic Air Venture in Shannon is a MUCH better option.

Thanks for the replies. I've done my research into the costs alright, I'm more looking for feedback on how people felt the courses went, do they think it helped them to get a job by picking one provider rather than another, or has it hampered getting a job by not picking a certain provider?

I've been looking at European Skybus too, it seems like great value for what you're getting from them, and the prospect of 8 hours in a full motion 747-200 sim has me slightly drooling!

If only this "demand" for pilots that everyone talks about materialised, we'd have nothing to worry about then!
