Gamer dies in net cafe- and no-one notices!

A Taiwanese man who died while playing video games at an internet cafe was left for hours after fellow gamers failed to notice his death.
The body of Chen Rong-yu, 23, was found slumped in a chair at a cafe in New Taipei city on Tuesday night, according to local reports.
He was rigid on a chair with his hands stretched out towards the keyboard and mouse, police said.
He had been playing League of Legends.
Mr Chen's body had apparently been sitting there for up to nine hours without any of the 30 other people in the cafe noticing.
He was last seen by a waitress talking on the phone around noon on Wednesday.
An initial police investigation found he might have died of a cardiac arrest triggered by low temperatures.
The man's family said he had been treated for a heart problem in September of last year.
Police are still looking into the cause of the death.
They say they suspect that a combination of tiredness, lack of movement and the cold weather could have caused blood clots and a heart attack.

If I may venture an opinion............there are reasons other than stupidity for not noticing dead people in internet cafes.

Having lived in Asia, I am not surprised that a) he died and b) noone noticed

Could be worse, it could be the child that died after you left it outside in a pram while you and your wife spent 2 days inside an internet cafe playing second life.

Its really not that strange, so many people just wrapped up in their own computer game world, its not that they talk to each other or engage with the 3D world.

I never got into them, they just seem sad to me, but then again I was off the last few days and its being boards all day, but while doing other things,

When my brother plays LOL he's like a zombie. I can sort of understand customers not noticing, especially in an internet cafe where people are coming and going all the time.

Some of those internet cafés for gamers are pretty awful places. I remember being in one in Cork before and the first thing that hits you is the smell of sweat. Then you realise that the only light is coming from the computer screens. The only sound was clicking, typing, the occasional grunt or crunch of a crisp and the constant hum of high powered PCs harmonising with the air conditioning.

A surreal experience to say the least.
