    Hi,

I have XBMC running at the mo (10.1 Darma) on my sittingroom HTPC... but i find myself holding off on messing with settings... adding more content, getting it the way i like it etc. until the 11.0 eden release is out.

Does anyone know when the eden full stable release is due and if i currently have darma... what is the upgrade process?

Is it a case of exporting my media library info to a save file and removing the darma version using windows uninstall - or how do others on here do it?

I would love to try one of the betas... but would be just worried that i got it to the point i wanted it settings wise etc. and then the stable version of eden would be released and i would have to uninstall the lot.

Don't know, based on the past I expect within a month or so.

I tried the first official Eden Beta, but it was not very stable for me, so I am waiting for the final version too.

Eden beta 2 is out, it's getting there, but there are too many broken addons yet to be using it on your main HTPC. Why don't you install it on a laptop and play about with it

Just spotted the new version of XBMC beta 3 was released today...

gutted... im still going to wait until the full release comes out... whenever it comes out! :D

I cant wait to ditch sky.... and the video/screen shots of the new version of XBMC on youtube seem to show way way better support for sat/tv pvr recording.

    The wait goes on...

How do people on here upgrade their XBMC versions?...

I have only ever used 10.1 Darma, so not too sure on the process of upgrading to betas.... and then when eden full arrives.

Is it just a case of uninstalling the full XBMC program and then reinstalling the new version? Anything need to be backedup before doing so etc?

What OS? But basically get the latest version and update.
You shouldn't need any kind of wipe and your add ons will be intact afterwards

I use OpenElec on my HTPC and it automatically updates when a new stable version is available. You can do it manually pretty easily too.

Sorry... ment to say Win XP.

So... just download eden beta or eden full (when it eventually arrives :D) and just run the downloaded file and it will overwrite whatever version you have at the time?

Cool... i thought it was a big uninstall of the program and then reinstall new version!
