    Hi all
First post -- So take it handy :)

Given the recent increase in tax in the last budget.
Looks like I will be converting the Defender 110 from a private vehicle to a commerical vehicle

Anyone got suggestions / recommendations on who can do this for me as cheaply as possible
    I'm based in Dublin

Its not a route I really want to go down ,but I have do something to reduce the tax bill from circ €2.3K per annum

There is an option on the Defender called a Utility Pack. Can I add this feature i.e. cover in the rear windows
Means I keep the rear seats but the back windows get covered in. Tax then drops to approx €900

Any idea how this can ve done and then how do I go about getting the Defender classified from an M1 to a N1 Commercial Vehicles, designed for the carriage of goods

    More on the Utilty Pack

    Thanks
    Tadhg

What year is yours, I pay €1035pa on mine?

Are you eligible for commercial motor tax and have the employees for the rear seats? Otherwise you are wasting your time, tax offices look for proof now.

The utility station wagon uses solid rear sides (same as SWB series Land Rover) and a bulkhead. All new Defenders inc full station wagons are now N1 but it's not retro-respective.

Mine is a Defender 110. June 2008 if that helps

As for the commerical -- I have that side covered off

Tadgh on my 90 I had to show them I was vat3 registered. Once you have the relevant paper work re their requirements and are not taking the p!ss as in hawking the gang around as a family daily but is part of your business use, you'll fly it.
