Scott Langley runs some good karate clubs in those parts of Dublin. Your kids will find others their age there so they are more likely to enjoy the clubs. I have no connection to those clubs but I know Scott to be an excellent instructor and I've met some of his students in other clubs.

Shotokan karate is taught safely and with minimal contact where children are involved. It's a very structured and disciplined form of training which is ideal for teaching to kids.

But my advice to you as an instructor is that kids of that age will have great difficulty learning any martial art to a useful extent, and certainly won't be able to apply it for self-defence. I generally wont accept a student younger than 7, and in all honesty I always warn parents not to expect to much from the training. That said, in one club where I teach the kids love it and keep coming back, and once they pass 10 years they can actually start to learn things..... as opposed to just having fun.
