    Folks,

I have created an identity in Outlook Express 6.0029 and i can receive email, having followed this instruction but it doesn't work for Outgoing Mail .... (i haven't figured out how to change the encryption from SSL to TLS yet though)

Just wondering has anyone been able to do this? Where am i going wrong?

Here is the error message i'm getting ...
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'MyEmailAddress@hotmail.com'. Subject 'Re: Test Mail Friday', Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

First off, do not use Outlook Express :P . That software is full of exploits and not secure. You can get the successor for free Windows live mail or Mozilla Thunderbird.
Secondly you need to enable smtp authentication, usually theres a checkbox and it will be your hotmail email and password likely

I actually downloaded it and to be fair it did look good but i couldn't receive mail or send it .... and couldn't edit as much as i could in Outlook Express (obviously wouldn't have to edit the port numbers etc. as it is bespoke application for hotmail)

Does anyone know of a good support site for WLM? Microsofts support wasn't great i thought (thats why i went back to Outlook Express)
