I use hornady .223 55gr V-Max. Bullet drop is +1.4@ 100yds 0.0@ 200yds and -7"@ 300yds. Now if I attach a T8 moderator to the rifle how would this effect the bullet drop? The guy I bought the mod off says -4" @ 200yds, if so what would I expect bullet drop to be at 100yds?

You'd have to find out for yourself - in my experience every gun behaves differently when you hang something on the end of the barrel.

It could vary using different mods, the weight of them can pull the barrel down more. It also can be off inch or two to the left or right.

Best 0'n it with the mod on and keeping it on and then find out the drop yourself

Ok so if I have the rifle with the moderator on and its 0'd at 200yds. The bullet trajectory as stated on the box assumes no moderator. So how does the moderator effect the trajectory at different differences. I would imagine the characteristics of the trajectory curve would differ quite a lot.

They won't. Trajectory is determined by velocity and ballistic coefficient as constants, and things like altitude, atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity as external variables. Since a moderator doesn't change the muzzle velocity of the projectile, it can't change the trajectory. Now, hanging a big feck-off weight at the end of the barrel will affect how it oscillates at the shot, and so the point of impact at a given distance might be different, but if you go out, zero with a mod on at 200 yards, and fire a group at 300 yards, go back, take the mod off, rezero at 200 yards without it, and fire another group at 300 yards, they'll be the same distance from the aim point.

Iv got a tikka t3 hunter in 25-06 and when i put on the a-tec mod i have to dial the scope (zeiss duralyte) up 8 clicks to get the same zero at 100 yards. Every gun different though. Hope this helps.

My experience with the mod is the drop was 4 inches or there abouts @100yrds so best to do is try get it an inch high at 100yards then increase to 200yards then you will see it will be near enough but the amount she can be of to the left or right @200yards can be up to 2inches. When the mod is hot the grouping isn't great. A accident i had with mine while zeroing with mod was it came loose after 10 rounds and she was shooting all over the place. I'd 8 rounds wasted before I coped what happened. I was back to square 1 all over again. Another thing I noticed that while zeroing @200 yards 1 click is going to be double the measurement. I think this is right what i'm saying. Might save time if its your 1st time figuring it out. Personally I found it that shade more accurate before i got moderator put on it and recoil was reduced by 30% with mod. It could be just my imagination
