How to remove/replace a M4 Selector switch.

Just wondering how do you remove/replace a M4 selector switch on a DBoys M4 CQBR.

you need to take the gearbox out which requires you to take the mag release out as is passes through a 'D' shaped hole on the font of the gearbox, then there may be a screw going through the buffer screw which screws into the back of the gearbox, remove that and the gearbox should come out. easiest way to take it out i found is to turn it to semi when taking the GB out.

when the GB is out, I use an allen key as leverage to pop out the cap on the right side, when that's out you can put a screw driver though that to get at the selector switch.

some M4's selector switch can be remove if there is a screw in the selector switch but that's if you're lucky.

Dont forget the thee body pins- Large front to slide off the top reciever/large rear and the gearbox stabilising pin(above the trigger)You will of course need various tools to do the job(screwdriver,punches/hammer) If you are not comfortable in doing it bring it to someone who is:)

Thanks guys. I know how to take out the selector switch now.

P.S. The two screws that hold the pistol grip in place has to be removed as well.:)

those too. I forgot the small little screws but at least i remembered the info regarding you actually removing the switch.

There must be about five to seven things you have to remove just to get to the gearbox of a M4...

yeah.. but at least you know it's in place and it ain't going anywhere when it is in the body
