Newtown Amenities

Ok not sure if the title is correct, only thing i could think of!

But im looking for some info on nice restaurants and places that deliver food in the Newtown area, after moving around here recently i ordered what was meant to be chinese delivery but it was nasty!! Google dosent tell you if it taste nice...

Any info would be great or any other info about the area, pubs, nights out etc. I have been to Kellys already lol

There are some good Thai restaurants in Newtown.

Thats the thing Mandrake theres lots of them! Lots of restaurants in general around there
Was hoping someone was from the area or new it well and could point me in the right direction of a few

Firstly Chinese here are nothing like chinese at home
I find urban spoon pretty good

Best pub food in newtown is hands down
Botany View hotel, followed by Carlisle castle, rose in erksinville, upstairs in coopers is good too - Kellys good for sunday roast
Kellys is good for sports (premier league etc)

Delhi o'Delhi is a great indian
Thai patong, banks thai, Doi Thai, thai riffic, are pretty good thai food
Bloodwood is fantastic but pricey
Great italian called Soffritto too.

Also $10 jugs and $10 chicken wings in Botany View Hotel on tuesdays!

Miss the old Botany view since moving from Newtown.
Used to be a quite a regular for take-aways from Doy Tao. Them stuffed chicken wings are something else!

Thought the best pub in newtown was the Courthouse in my opinion, never seemed to get as far as the food in it though

Courthouse is a great pub - great beer garden and just great to watch the 'alternative' people

I rated it purely on food
There are a good few newtown/erko/alexandria good pub food winners
