Spring PhD registration

    Hey folks,

I was planning to register as a PhD student come September but for reasons related to the world ending I'm being encouraged by my supervisor to register next month instead. So I'm scrambling to get the money together but the college seems to have no idea if/when/how I'm going to be billed and what the bill will be.

Could anybody that's registered to begin a PhD in the March period tell me:
    a) do I need to pay a full registration fee and will I need to pay it again come September?
    b) do I need to pay full tuition up front or just for one semester?

Money's not a mad issue but I just need to know how much to get together. I've spoken to three college officials and the subject and got three completely different answers. Gonna shoot off an Email to the SU education officer too but wondered if any of you folks have come through the other side.

    Hey there,
I'm registering this March for a PhD as well. The graduate admissions office confirmed with me that a March registration is for a full year and the tuition fees are the same as for a September entry. You wouldn't need to re-register, or pay more fees, until March of next year. If you mean two different things by "registration" and "tuition", my answer is that I don't think there's any difference. You pay a tuition fee, sports centre fee and USI levy once a year and that's it, nothing else.
The list of PAC fees available from the Treasurer's Office (http://www.tcd.ie/Treasurers_Office/fees/index.php) has a note saying that EU fees can be paid in two instalments.
    Hope this helps somewhat.
