So, I've burned my video from my PC to a DVD-R. It'll play fine on a PC but won't play on my DVD player. My DVD player is about 8yrs old but usually has no problem with DVD-R.

What might I be doing wrong?

What burning software are you using?

Hi, thanks for your reply. The file was an .avi file which apparently, my DVD player won't read.
    I've sorted it.

Which video software are you using to burn the avi? It probably needs to be burned as a video dvd and it sounds like you are burning it as a data dvd.

Other have had success using Nero. Here is a good link; http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=11031
