Scrap value (if any) of an 11 year old Citroen C5 Diesel (2L)

Does anyone know what scrap value , if any, an 11 year old 2L Diesel Citroen C5 would have? Clutch release bearing went on me today, damaged pressure plate also, by the sounds of what mechanic is telling me its not going to be worth my while getting fixed, had been having other problem recently so this was coming.
happened well away from where I normally get my Auto-issues sorted, prob just going to leave it to the guy I had look at it for scrap, just wondering what figure I'd be looking at so I'm forewarned and fore-armed. (always feel like a goon when dealing with anything auto related)
Had also just topped up tank 10 mins before clutch went kaput:rolleyes:

Are you sure it's not worth recovering and repairing?

Price around, that should be fixable for 500 or so, maybe a litte more.

Get it fixed, better the devil you know!

prob should have mentioned the speedometer has been on the blink recently too. Doesnt work for extended periods then randomly starts working for the odd trip Been using GPS to monitor speed, which prob isnt Kosher. Was quoted north of E500 to sort that out, and NCT is July.

Fix it. Unless you want to put a few grand towards buying a new car.

That sounds like an 'I don't know what the problem is so i'll quote for a brand new cluster' type quote to me. Might just be the speed sensor, which you'd probably get out of a breakers yard cheap.

The OP asked what the scrap value of his car is. Nobody appears to know.

To the mechanic who told him it wasn't worth repairing - presumably €0.

I appreciate why some people might be cynical about Just to clarify, the guy didnt come right out and say it wasnt worth fixing, just said it would be a big job and wasnt able to give me an idea on the spot how much, a view which chimes in what my own mechanic from home said over the phone when I rang him ( he had said if its the bearing you're in trouble, if its the line wont be too bad , only E100)
Also just to include some other info that wasnt in my OP (this car isnt actually mine, its my brothers which Ive been running around in for a few weeks while mine is being dealt with so I dont know every issue with it)
It has 200,000 K on it and is due a timing belt change soon too.
