    Hi,
I'm trying to set up a skype phone for my parents (similiar to this http://www.amazon.co.uk/FG-Wireless-Skype-Telephone-Lk3088/dp/B006QI8OVC/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1328200977&sr=8-14).
They have a 3 wireless broadband router hardwired to their dell desktop which has no wireless capability. The router has only 1 LAN port which is used to connect to the PC.
What's the easiest way to get the skype phone connected?
Do I need to connect another router (i have an older 1 with more ports) to allow me run the network cable to the phone aswell? Or there are smaller connections on both the router and phone base station, RJ45, can I connect through here?
I did connect the base station to the PC using the RJ45 to USB adapter and that showed up as another network connection, but I don't know how to get that connection to work with the internet network connection.
Sorry for rambling, just a bit confused as I thought it should be straightforward, any help would be much appreciated and I can clarify if needs be.....

Probably the simplest is to put a 4 way switch after the existing router and plug your devices into that.

As you have a second router that could be set up and used as the 4 way switch.

You could also replace their router with the old one .... and essentially get the same result.

    Cheers.
I guess using setting up the second router as a switch is the way to go then. I can't just use the second one on its own as the internet is coming in through a sim carded 3 router.
Is there anything I should do other than simply connecting up the second router? Do settings usually need to be changed, IP's etc? I guess I'm making the second router passive as such, i.e. not using its functions other that as a switch...

the router can be used as a switch with no config changes
