    Hey,
So a group of us (20) are planning on going Skiing in either Austria, Poland, or France early next year (Jan/Feb) and we all decided we would start looking now and try and get a good estimate of the cost.

    So,
    - Which of the three places above is best/cheapest to go to?
    - How much would it cost to rent ski equipment for a week?
    - How much is insurance?
    - Best type of accomodation? Hotel, Shalet, Appartments?
    - Ski School, how much would that cost for a day or two? Most of us have never been skiing before.

If anyone could point me in the direction of where we could get some good package deals, or gave us a quick quote on how much everything we need cost.

    Thanks for any help :)

If you’re going with a group of that size, I would recommend a travel agent/package. I personally would recommend Austria, I think it has better value for money overall. But ski rental is probably the most expensive of the three countries. But there are great deals to be had in resorts when you book lessons & equipment together. I would specifically advise AGAINST going with the pre bookable ski rental packages offered by your travel agent.

Ski pass is the same no matter from whom you buy them. Some resorts have an early (10%) discount for pre-season purchase, it’s worth looking into. You may also be able to get a group rate through your travel agent. They might offer a few free for a group of 20.

Insurance is as cheap as €30 afaik (getcover.com etc)
For a group that big, I’d say half board in a hotel/catered chalet is your best option. Otherwise you’ll be splitting up over dinner.
If you’re beginners, do ski school for the week. (ski school & gear rental will be about €250 for beginners)

Depending on what you’re looking for, you’d easily do all in – incl HB hotel, lift pass, gear & lessons for €1000 a head in Austria.
A wide range of chalets are hard to come by in any other country than France, you’ll have plenty of options there if that’s the route you wanted to take. You’d have to book early though - the best value spots fill up early.

I have been in France and Austria, Austria was cheaper
with a group of 20 you should be able to get a good rental deal, i've paid 80-130 as an individual.
Insurance is about 20 euro, but again shop around and look at what it covers
Chalets are good for groups that know each other, hotel similar more private as individuals but no group space for the craic. Apartments are cheaper but then you have to either eat out or cook. If you going to eat out a lot ether way then a Chalet is going to be a waste of money.
Do ski school for the week, you will need it! normally around the 200 mark.

Ski in ski out is great if you can get it, some cheaper Chalets that are further from the slopes do a private bus, try avoid that.
