Anyone know if the Lidl Popcorn maker would be any good for experimenting with roasting coffee beans?

I'd recommend it as thats how I ended up getting into roasting - it was the Lidl one that I bought.

With popcorn makers you just need to watch heat build up as the plastic can melt - a bit of water and damp towels sorts that part out. Roast quantities aren't huge but its definitely a fun way to experiment before you take the plunge of buying more expensive kit - which will happen

Cool, might pick it up so. It's cheap enough so no harm done if it doesn't work.

You may as well, it's only 15 quid and we can compare notes on our first attempts.

Go for it!! Will not be long before you will want something larger and move up to a "Coretto" (breadmaker and heatgun) setup. After that, who knows. That is the route I took and now have a 2Kg Torrefattore and love it.
