    Hi
My 13" white Macbook (2010) doesn't charge when its turned on at the same time , i.e it says "not charging" beside the battery symbol. It charges fine when it's turned off and plugged in but can't get it to charge when it's on. Also if i move the charger plug (the side that goes into the laptop) just a little bit it stops charging too. It's not a mjor problem but it's inconvenient :o
Tried lowering the brightness ,turning off bluetooth and turning off airport express but no luck. Any ideas?

Maybe you are using the wrong charger.
    What's the fault history?

If possible, borrow a charger and see if that sorts the problem. In my experience, it generally tends to be the charger at fault & not the laptop/battery.

Same thing happened to me recently. I tried a new charger and it solved the issue. Turns out one of the pins in the charger was slightly bent and only connecting intermittently. Pain. €80 for a new charger :/

You might just need to reset the SMC and for good housekeeping zap the PRAM. Its the SMC that controls anything battery or power related and sometimes needs a reset after a year or two of charging/discharging the battery. The PRAM doesn't have anything to do with power management but still it too most likely needs a reset after a year or two. Its not something you should need to do very often if at all but once a year does no harm:

Also check the port on your Mac and the connector on the charger to see if its a bit grimey, often charge issues are caused by dirt build up on the port/connector itself which prevents a clean connection.
