Hey lads, just a quick question. Just after finding out that my brother booked tickets for the Leinster Cardiff match presale. The tickets he got were Block 104 Row A. Having only been the higher seats in the Aviva I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of the front row? Is the view any good? They sound good but just worried that the view might not be the best or restricted or something! Genuine question by the way, not trying to boast.

    Hi Billy,

Have to say that I don't think they're going to be great tickets, I have a season ticket so have been in the same spot for a few games; my seats are in block 103, row L and I think that I'm too close to the pitch. It's fantastic when the play is near you but if it's on the far touchline or up the far end, you'll be watching the big screen. If you're in row A, I'd imagine it will be worse.

    Sorry about that.

I had front row tickets and low row tickets for a game there once and they were grand but they were side on view. Block 104 won't be too bad, you could be like me on Sunday and be stuck behind the in goal line front row :o

Picked up 6 tickets for some of the lads in work for the game, they asked for lower tier seats. So got them row D, all I could get for that many numbers. Guess they'll be plenty close to the action when it's in their area of the pitch, but they'll be watching on the big screen for most of it alright.

I was in the front row last year when they first put all the ST holders in Aviva. It's pretty terrible, big design flaw as you're about a foot below the elevation of the pitch, plus you get stewards and medics on a higher level than you blocking the view.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Having said that, I'm also in Block 104, and the screen is right beside you so....

Front rows in Twickenham and Millenium stadium as well as Stadium Australia, the SFS, Lang Park are all in similar position and priced in a similar category.

The squads, announcers and technical area etc are also pitch level. I watch the middle forty minutes or so on pitch level myself in one of the tunnels before heading back inside.

Ah so not so great then, but sure nothing I can do. Lets hope all the action is over my side of the pitch!

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Don't think its any worse than any stadium, for Rugby watching you really want to be back and up a bit to appreciate the space etc. but as your viewpoint is too close, the atmosphere is really telling, everyone is more or less shouting at you, so has its merits. Have sat pitchside a few times in various stadiums, and had "gold" level seats at some, enjoyed the pitch side more as an experience, prob cos could enjoy rather than focus so much on game, or possibly because we couldn't see much.... so we got extra tanked up

My bro was in Cardiff behind the wrong goalposts at pitch level for the HC final and saw almost none of the game, thats probably the best rugby stadium in the world, but the atmos / noise was unreal (and the right team won).

and out and out bragging: I was sat smack in the corner Mr. Stringer touched down in to win it for Munster in cardiff. could almost touch him :p

sry for hijacking the thread but i have a quick few questions

delighted just scored two corporate tickets for the game

it came with access to the O2 bar before and after the game

whats the story with the bar, do you get a few free drinks? or just the one? what kind of food is there?

If you got a wristband, it probably means a drinks tab. If you got a ticket for the area, it probably just means access to a paid bar.
If the food in Corporate Hospitality function is same as team reception then it will be a fairly high-end version of finger food. Last event we ran a couple of weeks ago (Q&A with Coaches for the 10 year/premium ticket holders), the food was mini dishes of chicken in bearnaise, hoi sin duck etc.

Which cat tickets are they? The tickets on general sale now are returns from Italian rugby union.

Was near enough to front row (about 5 rows back) for the Leinster Tolouse game last season and they're awful seats. Was in a similar row in the Millenium stadium for the final and much better stadium design, much more elevated seats.

    Thats strange.
In both stadia the pitch is same height with exactly the same camber.

A lot of the Leinster ST holders who were placed near the front last season asked to be moved further back for subsequent games because of this exact issue.
