for Irish businesses and irish workers? How can Ireland adapt?

If I want to buy clothes for example, I will regularly buy off an American or British website, but can society really work like that? I've made money in Ireland off someone else consuming in the place where I work(I actually don't have a job but let's say I did) whose helping me stay in a job but then I just buy online? Its like consumers going to the North to do their shopping, it's a short term gain but the lasting impact is probably greater?
It's late and I'm tired so not best written but interested to see what people think?

I honestly think online shopping is going to present huge difficulties for traditional retailers the world over, not simply in Ireland. It's simply so easy to go onto amazon, find the item required and pay for it. I could do that in five minutes. Certainly, there is the waiting period whilst the package is in transit but realistically, how often does someone need something immediately?

Certain shops however, will probably remain. Established specialist stores such as music shops or good hardware stores have the advantage of the knowledge to advise customers and get them the items that would best suit their needs. For the average clothing retailer, I don't see the future as being especially bright.
