Exporting Car from Ireland

Hi, new to Boards and want to say hi, first post on here and want to pick some brains. I am an Irish expat in Africa and looking at importing a second hand car from Ireland.
I can import duty free, so no problems on this side, have a quote from a shipper which is very reasonable.
I have seen a 4 WD in a dealers that has taken my fancy, even with the shipping costs it ends up around 60% cheaper than to buy a car of the same year and make here.
my question is: is there VAT or VRT on the forecourt price of the car at the dealers and will this be deducted if exporting the car?
Looking forward to any assistance posters can provide.

There is no real VAT on the selling price, it works on the VAT margin scheme. So if the car is bought for 4000 and sold for 5000, then the vat payable is 1000x23% or 230 euros. I cannot see how this can be reclaimed although it may be possible to get the sale ex vat.
