Rubber bung now in the Beer

Was trying to change an airlock as a result of a bit of "overspill".

Have the beer in a 23L Carboy, when trying to get the bung out, accidentally pushed it in.

Do I need to get concerned?. Am half thinking of just leaving it there, need to leave the beer for another couple of weeks - hoping it wont have too much effect on flavour....

I would imagine the bung is designed not to impart any flavour on your beer. If your concerned just syphon the beer off. Its going to be a shxt job trying to get the bung out.

Hes still going to have to get it out sometime.

OP if you can still have the carboy sealed with a 2nd bung I would just leave it in there. I lost the bottom plastic part of my auto syphon in a brew once and just left it in there. Just fingers crossed there was nothing nasty on the top of the bung but regardless the damage would be done by now

same thing happened to me but with a 1 gallon carboy.
    I syphoned to another carboy
removed the bung using a cork screw
a quick splash of starsan on everything and I syphoned back in. The beer turned out okay, not great but it wasn't spoiled
