On phone, apologies for curt post. I see a Laser card on the ground. My station will be closed. Would you hand it to the security guys, who are usually there or hand it into the station in the morning. I don't like the idea of picking up and bringing home someone's card. There is also a Garda station on my way home.

Can they issue one? They are the burly guys in black uniform.

Break it in half, more than likely the owner would have spotted it missing and reported it to the bank in question. The Bank will issue the customer with a new card and pin within a few days. The current card would be worthless even if returned to owner.

Hand it into a branch of the bank it was issued by. They will get in touch with the owner.

You can write a receipt yourself - then get them to sign it. if you leave to garda station get a receipt also.

Hold onto it, ring a/the branch, give them your number and tell them to notify the holder. Drop into a branch or let holder get in touch with you (might lead to pints). Don't give it to security or Gardaí, notify perhaps, but don't give it to them.
