Looking for Advice On Disability Benefit.

    Hi,
    I have recently been denied DB twice without a medical officer even seeing me by the social welfare. I have a condition called Osteitis Pubis. One side of my pelvis is out of place. This has me going to two different hospitals one for pain management (as i live in pain almost every day) and one to see a surgeon (who i am currently trying to get surgery done, by way of a steel plate in my pelvis to hold it in place) i have to go into hosital every couple of months for steroid injections into my pelvis and they leave me in not much better shape then i was before. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on try to get Disability payment as i cant go back to illness (not enough stamps).

    Did you not appeal the decisions of the DoSP ?

    I sent in medical documents from my pain doctor and still they refused it.

    Illness Benefit and Disability are the same scheme just an updated name.Was it Disability Benefit or Allowance you have been refused?
    What was the reason given for being refused?

    I think i was allowance i applied for. The grounds from my refusal was there was nothing medical wrong with me. I haven't tried the appeals court as i went into hospial for an injection and missed my 21 day window.

    You still can go for an appeal.
    You missed the window because of being ill. Explain this to the appeal's office and it will help you in a big way.
    The fact that you cannot even keep up with some paperwork due to your illness proves that you are unfit for work.

    If you were in hospital for the full 21(or most of it) days prior to the time to appeal you can get a letter from the hospital to support your late appeal and put in an appeal.

    That proves nothing .

    Send in the appeal ,they will take it on even if it is over the 21 days.
