    Hi Lads,
i know this has been covered in many threads, but there doesnt seem to be any thread that deals with my specific problem.

Have sky+ HD box installed and working fine, wanted to install 2nd hand box (BOX2) in room for free to air channels, with a view to possibly going multi-room in the future.

Ran new cable from dish to 'BOX2' - set up box etc...
Got "no signal is being received" message...

So i brought the new cable to the back of the set that works for testing purposes, and it is carrying a signal.
I've also connected 'BOX2' to the inputs from the set that works, and i get the same message.

So I'm assuming that the problem is with 'BOX2'?? Can anyone shed any light on this.

    Thanks.

Connect it up and leave it on overnight. Similar thing happened to me so I left it on overnight & had fta channels next day. My box had been out of service for 14 months.

Will i leave it on, or in standby mode?

Leave it on to be really sure. And stick your $ky card in it as well to make sure it gets the contact signal from the satellite.

you could try a software update to update the box, sometimes it helps with the signal and clears the history of no signal,

    Plug out Power lead
    Hold back up
While holding back up plug in power lead
Keep holding back up until 4 lights on front of box light up
    Leave for 10 -15 mins

    Hope this helps

I'd agree with trying the forced software download. If the box has been out of use for a long time it may need to be brought up to date again.

Is it a sky hd box that you are trying to use for a
    fta box???

If so how many cables did you run to the room, 1 or 2?

If you only ran one cable then you need to change thee setting on the box for a single feed do this buy doing the following

Firstly make sure you have the cable connected to the input lnb no 1..

    Then using remote

    Press services
press 0,0, 1 select to enter secret installers menu
Push down and goto single feed mode switch to on and press green to save

Box will now shutdown and reset and should switch back on working.
