Hey, I got instructor and well on first lesson we did 1st EDT. Then I told him about problem of me not having sponsor, he said that he talked to other ADI and that ADI said it's sometimes even easier and better off with no sponsor as sponsor could teach you wrong ways So on first lesson I just did moving off, drive for 5 metres and stop, basic stuff. On second lesson I took not an EDT but just lesson as practice, I got to drive around small residential area where there is tons of cars parked, as slow speed (max shifting up to 2nd gear), I did well my ADI said. Then he suggested me to take next 2 lessons together, not an EDT but as practice, he said he wants me to learn the standard stuff first (driving, turning etc..) So today I had my 2 lessons (3rd and 4th) I was amazed that I drove about 5 km.
I got to drive on public roads with other cars, stop at traffic lights, go through roundabouts on all ways out not only straight left. And went as fast as 45 km/h in 4th gear.
My ADI said that over 4 lessons I got further than any other people he taught before, and that I did very good, as I did no mistakes, followed traffic flow with no problem, didn't cause any danger on road, he also said that I didn't notice myself how I automatically switch gears without even him telling me when to, or am being able to turn and slow down when needed. So think I can pass driving test without sponsor for driving? I mean if I keep learning that way.

Great, but if you want to practise on your own best to do it around an estate or industrial estate though and not on a public road otherwise while on a public road you need a sponsor regardless due to the law. You could be just down the road from your house driving on your own without a sponsor and get fined! I wouldn't chance it if you get caught by the guards that sort of thing could go on your licence if you aren't careful! The guards could be hidden some where you wouldn't know mainly watching out for those speeding but they could do a check point or be on duty in a certain area like you wouldn't be aware they are there. Technically you aren't insured to drive the car unless you have a sponsor with you.

You are still subject to the road traffic in car parks, industrial estates, and housing estates etc., infact any place that the public has access to is considered a public place.

If you are planning on using your instructor as a sponsor to practice that is acceptable and effective, but expensive. But my first impression is that your instructor should let you do more driving. This may hold you back a little. 5k in a two hour lesson is not that much, unless they are squeezing in 4 EDT lessons into the 4 hours.

Well I am not sure it was 5km actually, as I have never driven before, today was my first time, I am still not used to the measurements and approximate calculation in my head. I drove for like 1.5 hours straight on roads. And well most of my time so far in my ADI car I have spent driving so far.

Well that makes a bit more sense. You may be pleased to hear that you probally drove a lot more then 5k. 1.5 hours on mostly straight continuous roads is going to be more like 35k. That sounds more interesting and challanging.

Well for me as first time driving it was very very great feeling. I was on average in speed 25-40 km/h.

I know that feeling lol. I remember my first day driving, I came home on such a buzz, couldn't sit down for long before I wanted to get out there again hehe.

I wouldn't worry about the guards stopping you for no sponsor if your in a quite enough area. As long as you have L plates up and don't do anything dangerous or silly then you should be fine. I have gone through checkpoints where they haven't said a thing to me on my own.

    Good luck with the driving.
