Just wondering does anyone collect or trade Vintage Star Wars carded figures. I added a few recently to my Vintage collection, cant afford Mint condition ones just yet..... but I'm happy enough to have the mint figure on a reasonable enough original card back, Heres a photo of my latest purchase....

1982 Kenner, 48 Back release, 'Empire Strikes Back' Imperial Commander.

What i liked about this card back was the sticker that came attached on front and back of some of the 48 Back releases for the Admiral Akbar figure from the original working title of 'Revenge of the Jedi' :)

Always thought that this was one of the better sculpted figures released as well

A few years ago - possibly around 2001 but i'm not exactly sure - a new sci fi shop opened up on temple bar on crow street beside the back entrance to the foggy dew. It had a lot of new stuff and some funky old stuff - an opened but boxed almost complete transformers g1 fortress maximus, a boxed but opened star wars landspeer and snowspeeder etc. It wasn't the shop down at the bottom of crow street by urban outfitters that closed recently.

But what caught my eye were carded unopened star wars (not potf) aunt beru and uncle Owen figures. They were clearly new and I wasn't collecting at the time, but they looked like "original vintage collection" toys that had been newly released by Kenner, so I didn't think they were odd or rare.

But years later I have never seen another and the shop is long closed down - any idea what they might have been? A fan mock up or something uniquely issued for an Irish or British convention?

I wish my mobile had had the capability of taking photos at the time!!!!
