M and W licence

    Hey,
I was just wondering what the current entitlements are after passing the B test. I had a provisional with A1, B, M and W from 2004 and when I applied for the learner permit this was reduced to just B and W (despite ticking the same boxes in the application). Now, I'm aware that the regulations regarding A1 have changed (in that you have to undergo a certain number of hours of training etc) but am I entitled to apply for the "M" as well (not that I see myself on a moped at any point in the future!) or do I need to undergo training?
    Cheers
    Ed

M and W are covered under B DTT

Hang on, when did you pass your test? The regulations changed on this in the last few years.

If you only passed recently, you are not entitled to a full M category on your B license. It was 2006ish when this came in the affect as far as I know. That would explain why you don't have an M category on your full B.

Categories A, A1 and M are a separate theory test from B and W these days.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
I passed my practical test on Tuesday. I thought for some reason that the M might still carry over and they mistakenly forgot to include it in my learner permit. I had just been wondering whether or not to tick the M box in the full licence application, although I can't see myself gettin an "M" at any point anyway!
