As the title suggests I am looking for advice on how to do this, I know it's not the thing to do and external insulation is the way to go but it's not an option for me where I want to do it. I'm thinking that a natural insulation, hemp or wood fibre with a vapour barrier is the way to go but can anyone give advice on alternatives or how to do this.

have you looked at the isover website. I remember seeing a vid on there way of drylinging walls. might be applicaable. here. Battons, insulation between, and a membrane over. then plaster board.
